FAMILY ΣΑΜΑΡΙΤΗ

H family Σαμαρίτη, our family originates from the Skaloti Sfakia. One of the most ancient and numerous families of Sfakia with a lot of active members who played a leading role in the history of Crete. Due to the division of a proud and explosive character of the original Inhabitants, our family has experienced the uprooting. The place that hosted is located at the foot of mount Juktas. But very quickly, they became the heads of this place because, as he used to say the grandfather of the family: “The Sfakianos, wherever found, will make καλιμέντο”. Proud of our origins we reserve the manners and customs of the original Inhabitants, even if we are far away from the ancestral land. Women loyal to the tradition of the household and the αμίμητης genuine Σφακιανής kitchen, still preserve the lead in the cretan gastronomy.
